Museumweekend

Every year somewhere in April we have the 'Museumweekend' in The Netherlands. Admission was free for all visitors. I say was, because this year you will have to pay a symbolic € 1,- fee per museum. I guess the financial crisis hit cultural Netherlands hard.:/ But don't worry, most of the Dutch museums are worth every penny. Go to www.museumweekend.nl for more information and if your museum is participating in the weekend of April 14 & 15 (all information in Dutch). Unfortunately the famous 'Rijksmuseum' and the 'Hermitage Amsterdam' (which is showing the Van Gogh paintings temporarily) don't coorperate with the 'Museumweekend'. So you will have to pay the full price.
De bezuinigingen raakt elk gebied van de samenleving. Komend museumweekend, 14 & 15 April, mag elke bezoeker een Euro aan het museum betalen. Gelukkig heb ik zowat alle musea in mijn stad gezien.
