I bet you didn't expect me to continue the 30 day challenge, me neither.:D Ok, so I was born in the heart of the Nethelands. A cute little city called Utrecht. If you ever happen to be in The Netherlands, please visit the city of Utrecht. It's much nicer than Amsterdam and Rotterdam. I mean, the chance you get beaten up or get robbed is much smaller in Utrecht.:)

Utrecht has two Mascots. If you are Dutch and you hear the word Utrecht, you will say the Dom tower.

Utrecht heeft twee mascottes. Als je Utrecht zegt dan zeg je de Dom toren, oftewel 't dommetje.

Above the river rhine, most of the people are protestant. It used to be catholic, so that explains the dom. We tend to use diminutives to show our affection to someone or something. Yes, we pronounce our 'g' very harsh but in our hearts we aren't that bad. The people of Utrecht call the Dom, dommetje (little dom).

Utrecht also has its own walk of fame but instead of Hollywood stars the street is paved with Dutch movie stars and movies.

Mensen ...... we hebben een 'Walk of Fame' in Utrecht! Hieronder raak ik het verboden fruit aan.;)

The second mascot is Nijntje, also known as Miffy outside The Netherlands.^__^ Everyone grew up with Miffy in The Netherlands. Miffy's creator, Dick Bruna, was also born in Utrecht that's why Miffy is related to Utrecht. In 2005 the city of Utrecht opened the Dick Bruna huis (house) to honour Miffy's father, Dick Bruna.:)

Daarnaast is Utrecht ook de stad van Nijntje! Naast het Centraal Museum staat het Dick Bruna huis. Al het werk van Dick Bruna is daar te bewonderen. Maar het staat vooral bekend als het Miffy museum onder de vele aziatische bezoekers (de keren dat ik daar was, was ik waarschijnlijk één van de weinige Nederlanders). Nee het is niet wat je denkt, ik werd er naar toe gestuurd door mijn Nederlandse grootouders. Zij hadden zoiets van, je bent Utrechtenaar dus Nijntje is automatisch je bff. O.K ....
